MY THIRD TEACHING PRACTICUM (SECOND PERIOD)

Describe

Yesterday (Tuesday), I had my last class. I knew the students were going to be a little bit tired, and somehow, they would feel  without energy. I had to do a review about past in the future (was/were going to). The enviroment was good since the students participated a lot. Also, The seating arrangement was the horse shoe style. This seating arrangement is perfect for small classrooms. To explain future in the past, I used a chart in wich they had to find some words in a word search.Moreover, I used a chart to make a review about the topic and after that, I used some pieces of paper that I pasted in the board in order to teach them new words. I gave them a controlled activity and a matching activity. At the end of the lesson, I gave them some questions in which they had to discuss them with a partner.

I Think that this was a big challenge because as I wrote before, I knew they would feel without energy after vacation. I think that I had to do another speaking activity since I noticed that when I gave them the questions to discuss them, they were enjoying giving their opinions.   

 It is very important because they practice the language, and I think that is not good just giving them writing activities.  

Sometimes, students get bored just writing and doing the same thing in each class.  



Based on what I already know about variety of activities I think that it really helps because the students can learn from different ways the topic studied.

Based on what I observed, I think students generally were able to do the activities. I could see that they were focused since they did a good job in the lesson.

I believe that speaking activities can help students'   learning because they practice the new vocabulary given by the teacher. Also, They are happy to share their ideas with other people.

So, in the future, I will keep monitoring because I see that students have the confidence of asking me some things they want to know or some doubts.

In future lessons I will be more enthusiastic since I still having problems with that. I know that I have to work on it!

The next time I teach this lesson, I will be more serious with the students. I mean that when they use their cellphones, I will call their attention because I had that problem in the classroom, and I did not do anything. I thought that they would hate me, but I realized that sometimes we have to take the risk. Another way of calling their attention is ask them to keep them in their bags in a kind way. 

In future experiences I will also include reading activities. I know that readings play an important role in the process of learning.
